About Me
Hi, I’m Ioan-Horia Rotaru — a software engineer who enjoys designing systems that stay maintainable as they grow. I like taking complex problems, breaking them into clear pieces, and building solutions that feel calm, predictable, and easy to extend.
My work is mostly frontend-focused (TypeScript, React, Vue), but I’m comfortable working across the stack when needed — from API integrations to backend changes in Ruby, Node.js, or PHP. I care about reliability in real production environments: fewer surprises, fewer regressions, and code that other engineers don’t dread touching.
I’m particularly interested in frontend architecture, type-safe systems, performance, and developer experience. I enjoy creating guardrails — patterns and abstractions that make it easy to build the right thing and hard to build the wrong one.
Outside of work
These days, most of my time outside of work belongs to my daughter. Parenthood has been a surprisingly good teacher — patience, prioritisation, and learning to operate well on limited sleep are all transferable skills.
When I do find a quiet moment, I still enjoy music and the occasional deep dive into something technical just for the fun of understanding it better.
Tools I reach for
I’m not tied to a specific stack, but these are the tools I tend to work with most often:
